How durable is Chisel Jewelry?
Titanium rings offer several unique properties: they are hypoallergenic, lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and have the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any metal. Titanium rings are also highly resistant to most causes of corrosion, including sea water, chlorine (in water), and some acids. Titanium rings are therefore practical for those who regularly swim in the ocean or chlorinated pools.
Dura Tungsten and Ceramic items are designed to be extremely durable and maintenance free. Under normal wear, Dura Tungsten and Ceramic bands should remain in original condition and resistant from scratches. However, some inlays in Dura Tungsten bands could eventually show signs of wear with time.
Stainless Steel does not corrode, rust or stain with water as ordinary steel does, but despite the name it is not fully stain-proof. It typically has a silver sheen, but, unlike silver, it will not corrode and it is not susceptible to scratches, dings or dents.
How to clean the Chisel items?
Using mild soap & water or a lint free polishing cloth is recommended. For stainless steel items use a polishing cloth specifically designed for this metal.
Enamel and IP-plating is strong and durable; however specific care is necessary to ensure it stays in place on your jewelry:
- Enameling cannot take heat from torches, over-polishing, steaming or ultrasonic cleaners.
- Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
Do the rings conduct electricity?
None of the rings in the Chisel catalog will conduct electricity.
Can Chisel items be engraved?
Titanium, stainless steel, cobalt chromium and plated products are suitable for engraving. However, Dura Tungsten and ceramic items are not available for engraving due to the strength and hardness of these materials.
Nearly all of the titanium and stainless steel bands that are 4mm or larger can be custom engraved on the inside of the band as well.
Can the chains for pendants be exchanged for different lengths or styles?
Pendants are shown on the chain type and length that is included. Check with your local jeweler for availability of different lengths and styles of chains.
Are extra links for bracelets available?
Extra links for bracelets are not available. Bracelets are only available in the lengths listed.
Are links removable?
Please check with your local jeweler. Depending on the style and their equipment, an item in the collection may or may not be modified.
Is there a warranty for Chisel merchandise?
Chisel Watches have a limited warranty from the date of purchase. Complete details and warranty card are included with each watch.
Chisel provides a lifetime sizing policy for bands featured on this website. The exchange of any band must be facilitated through your local jeweler.
The Lifetime Sizing Policy on the Chisel Bands states:
This policy is for lifetime sizing and replacement purposes only. Bands may be exchanged as many times as needed for the lifetime of the band. A deductible will be applied each time the band is returned for an exchange (listed below). We reserve the right to refuse to replace the band if it has been altered in any way. Engraving, soldering, sizing, polishing, ultrasonic cleaning, steaming, breakage or other signs of abuse to the band will void the guarantee and no credit will be given. Bands will be exchanged for the exact band being returned unless the style is no longer available. In the case your band cannot be exchanged due to market availability, we will exchange it for a band that closely matches the original.
Deductibles are subject to change. Consult with your local retail jeweler for complete details.

Dura Tungsten and Ceramic bands are designed to be extremely durable and maintenance free. Under normal wear, your Dura Tungsten and Ceramic bands should remain in original condition and resistant from scratches. However, the inlay in Dura Tungsten bands could show signs of wear with time. The replacement deductable cost covers a new inlay in a different finger size, along with all refurbishing and finishing work provided.
Titanium and Stainless Steel can be scratched or show signs of wear with time. This is not a defect in manufacturing.
To execute an exchange, contact your local retail jeweler.
Chisel Jewelry does not have a warranty. Follow recommended cleaning and care instructions to extend length of wear.
